Meat prices soar amidst nationwide drought
Prices of livestock feed and meat have increased due to the drought—the worst in 60 years—currently plaguing the Corn Belt. An agricultural economist at the University of Missouri says he expects an 8-percent increase in prices for meat, dairy, and poultry in 2013 and possibly into 2014.
